Here it is again... the end of yet another school year. Why do they fly by so fast! Seems like we just got the kids started in school. I am not complaining. I don't have to yell at the kids to get movin in the mornings and I love summer! Just wish it didn't go by so fast!
Chandler will be moving on up to the Middle School. I am not old enough to have a 7th grader right? Chandler had a male teacher for first time in 6th grade. He was a little scared at first, but it has been his best year so far. Mr Cook prepared Chandler well for the 7th grade jump. Fantastic teacher! He has turned into a reading machine. Its going to be a busy summer trying to keep him stocked with books. Chandler will be tutoring at the literacy center and taking a Spanish class.
Kayden's 1st Grade teacher was also great. Mrs Crawford is so sweet. She even taught Kayden to tie his shoes! He didn't want to do it when mom or dad tried to teach him. A couple days ago Kayden came home with a little scrapbook that she had made for each of the kids. There were all those pictures that you would like to take to put in your childs scrapbook, but aren't at the school to capture the memories. She did just that. There were pictures of just her and Kayden. There was a picture of Kayden and the librarian. Field trip pictures, friend pictures, etc. I can't imagine the time it took for her to make all of them. She sent home a "Last Homework" project last week as well. She asked that we make a scrapbook page for her album. We were short on time with all the yard work we were doing (more on that later) so this is what we came up with. As for Kayden's summer plans, he will be at the literacy center doing a little reading to keep him at his current level or higher through the summer. He will also be taking the Spanish class like Chandler.
Braxton's pre-school was also a lot of fun. His teacher made them all t-shirts with all the kids names on it that were in the class. Braxton will be going to a pre-school summer school that this same teacher does. Then he will start the 4 year old class in the fall.
As for Mylie... she is growing up way to fast! She will be 2 soon and is learning to communicate very well. She and I will still have our girl time while the boys are busy with their stuff a couple times a week. We might go to story time or find other fun things to do.
